* Head Start Program is designed for pups 5 months of age and up. This 1 month class will consist of starting your puppy off with a tremendous amount of bird exposure to begin developing their natural hunting and pointing instincts. They’ll gain a lot of experience working released birds in realistic hunting conditions. They will be introduced to all the sights and sounds of being a bird dog.

* We begin the program with the proper introduction to gun fire. Once we have your youngster comfortable with the gun, and truly "Gun Broke", we’ll then move them to the introduction to water. After we have them gun broke and water retrieving, we will then move them into the field portion of their development; where we will turn them loose in the bird field on a daily basis in order to allow them the opportunity to develop all the natural ability that they were born with. With over 300 acres of a wide variety of terrain we allow them the opportunity and freedom to learn how to run edges and hunt objectives. At this time we will also begin basic "Here" training and E-collar conditioning.

* Head Start is designed to help you and your pup develop into a successful hunting and retrieving team.

* The cost is $900.00 for the four week program, due when you drop off your pup. Dogs stay at the kennel during their training and are housed in individual runs. We feed Prism Performance, twice a day, which is a top rated dog food and is suitable to meet the needs of your active, growing puppy. Your one on one, pre scheduled, owner training session is included in the fee. The pups are worked individually and their training starts on the day following their arrival.

* At the end of the four weeks when you come to pick up your dog, we will spend approximately an hour working with you and your dog together. We will instruct you on what to work on at home to prepare your dog for more advanced training. This training is designed to educate you on how to get the most out of your early training sessions with your puppy, during this critical stage, of rapid development.

* Our released chukars/pigeons will be included in the cost of the program.

* Started Program is designed for dogs that are a little older and have already had a good "Head Start". In this class we will focus to establish sound general obedience, a good work attitude, and give confidence to your young pointing dog. This program will consist of starting your youngster with quite a bit more bird exposure to solidify their natural point. They’ll gain a lot of experience working liberated and wild birds and we’ll begin perfecting their upland hunting skills.

* We’ll concentrate on only shooting pointed birds and training them to come every time they are called, regardless of what is going on. Whether it’s other hunters, dogs, missed birds or wild flushes, they’ll be trained to respond correctly. Verbal and whistle commands will be taught and then reinforced with proper E-collar conditioning. This will allow us to establish a quick command response even at a distance. We’ll also give them a chance to do some serious learning about being out in the field with other dogs and maintaining proper hunting techniques. During this time we will also focus on developing your dog into a natural retriever.

* This class is designed to develop a bragging rights bird dog that anybody would be proud to hunt with.

* The Started class cost $1800 and runs 8-10 weeks. This class includes all bird costs, supplies and equipment used during the course...everything your dog will need to achieve success.

* Advanced Program consists of steadying the “started” dog on point, spending a great deal of training on teaching the dog about properly handling running birds, teaching them to stop to wild flushes and whoa training. From there we can move into the backing of other dogs on point as well as retrieving if necessary.

* We concentrate on producing a well trained, polished, finished Gun Dog, and/or field trial competitor. This is the time when your dog will complete the "breaking" process. Whether you want your dog broke to wing and shot or just to let you do the flushing.

* The Advanced class generally lasts 3-4 months depending on the individual. We will decide when your dogs is ready to go. This class includes all bird costs, supplies and equipment used during the course...everything your dog will need to achieve success. The price is $2400.

* We also offer a Force Fetch Program that is designed for those wanting to have a polished retriever in the uplands or a solid duck dog. Force Fetch / 2 months - $2000.

* We have the knowledge and expertise to develop your dog into the all-around hunting experience.

Shots (including bordetella) and worming need to be up to date and a copy of the vet’s shot record will need to accompany the dog at drop off. If your dog requires any special care or medication (i.e. heartworm meds.), please note it on the form and remind us when your dog arrives.
